主な事業と役割 当協会の主な事業は，和牛の登録並びに育種改良に関する事業を行い，それらの情報収集及び調査研究に努め，その成果の普及啓発を図ることによって，和牛の遺伝的能力の改良及び飼養管理による改善を推進することを目的としています。 また，血統と生産履歴を保証することにより，和牛に対する信頼の確保と和牛肉の安定的供給，品質の向上に寄与しています。 全国的に統一された登録事業を行うことで，世界に誇れる畜産物として，その発展に貢献しています。 当協会は，昭和２３年に種畜法，昭和２５年以降は家畜改良増殖法に基づく家畜登録機関として，約６０年以上にわたって，和牛の登録事業を行い，登録事業を通じた和牛の育種改良を進めてきました。これらの成果と関係者の努力の積み重ねにより，和牛は他の品種には見られない肉質に加えて肉量面にも優れたわが国固有の財産といえるものとなり，そのおいしさは国内のみならず世界的にも認められるようになりました。 設立の経緯 全国和牛登録協会は，昭和２３年，戦後間もないわが国の貧しい食料事情と厳しい経済情勢のなかで，日本農業に適し，これからの日本農業の一翼を担う家畜として和牛が広く
