公益財団法人 ユニジャパン（旧：財団法人日本映像国際振興協会（UNIJAPAN））は、財団法人日本映画海外普及協会（ユニジャパン・フィルム）と財団法人東京国際映像文化振興会と統合し、平成17年4月1日より新しく発足しました。 これにより、従来の日本映画を海外に普及するという活動以外にも東京国際映画祭の開催運営事業が追加されました。 そして、平成22年7月1日に、「公益財団法人ユニジャパン」として移行の登記を行いました。 ユニジャパンは、国際映画祭を開催し、次代を担う才能の発掘・育成の助成及び、映画フィルムの保存を図るとともに海外において日本映像の普及宣伝を行い、もって我が国の映像文化の発展を促し、日本映像の輸出の振興を促進させること、また、国際友好及び文化の増進に寄与することを目的とします。
