昔ながらの風習や生活を受け継ぐ家はほとんど残されておりません。 着道楽京都の真ん中西陣で呉服商を営み、毎朝家中の神さんごとから一日が始まるといった、京の女達が代々受け継いできた風習やしきたりを守るのは容易なことではありません。 そして、こういった西陣に伝わる心身共に美しく生きる知恵を少しでも後に残していきたいと心より願って止みません。 京町家で伝え守られてきた風習やしきたりを通して、先日の知恵と精神を感じて頂きたい。 また西陣の脈々と伝わる「心身共に美しく生きる」知恵と文化を後に伝え残して頂きたいと考えています。 慶応4年（1868年）に「鳥羽伏見の戦い」で建物は全焼し西陣に出てくる。 平安遷都の時代より京の中心であった大宮一条の一帯には連綿と続く歴史が満ちあふれている。その西陣で商売を始めた。 千両の絹が動いたと言われる「千両ヶ辻」で絹を積み、荷車を引き明治18年、呉服問屋としてこの西陣の真ん中に現在の「冨田屋」本社を建てる。 同志社大学を初め、多くの大学で講師を務め日本の伝統や文化について発信、1,000名以上の生徒を輩出。 日本の伝統文化を広めるべく日本だけでなく海外でも登壇し、
