私たちの財団がその第一歩を踏み出したのは、戦後20年が経ち日本がこれから高度成長期を迎えようとしている昭和42年8月、（株）学習研究社｛現（株）学研ホールディングス｝の出捐により設立されました。 教育ドクターから第一歩を踏み出した当財団が教育工学、教育賞、コンテスト事業、モンテッソーリ教育、教育相談、日本語運用能力検定、教員免許更新講習、先生の学び応援サイト、幼児教育における国際資格取得と次第に事業活動の分野を広げてきた過程を振り返りますと、多くのお力をいただいてきたことに改めて気づきます。 2011年4月には才能開発教育研究財団は、公益財団法人として新たな一歩を踏み出しております。 理事・監事・評議員として、また各事業の講師、審査員として直接かかわっていただいた方々はもとより、所管庁をはじめ、各自治体の教育委員会、校長会、保護者の団体などさまざまな教育関係機関のご支援ご協力をいただいてまいりました。 また、財団を初期から支え、事業の遂行に力を貸してくださった多くの方々に感謝を申し上げる次第です。 世の中の進歩は、さらなる便利さを求め続けてまいります。この便利さを現実化されるようになる
