The Agricultural Economics Society of Japan
本会は、1924（大正13）年11月19日に、神田の学士会館に発起人が集まり、創設された。 翌年の1925年に学会誌『農業経済研究』を岩波書店から刊行し始め、第二次世界大戦中は３年間休刊したものの、毎年1巻4号分の刊行を続けて、 2019年（平成30）年に第90巻を数えている。 『農業経済研究』は、わが国の社会科学系学会誌の中でも、もっとも伝統のある雑誌の一つである。また、1999（平成11）年から英文誌The Japanese Journal of Agricultural Economicsの刊行を開始し、日本国内のみならず、広く海外に向けて活動の輪を広げている。 英文誌の刊行に先立ち、1991（平成３）年には、本会の後援の下で国際農業経済学会（IAAE）が開催され、2023年にはアジア農業経済学会（ASAE）も予定されている。 このように、本会は国内・国外を活動の場として、90年以上の歴史を有し、1,600余名の会員を擁する学会である。 本会は、現在、約１，６００名の会員を有している。 うち、正会員（約１，１００名）は、大学、国、地方行政機関、農業団体などの職員、学生会員（約５０
