早朝・夕刻に太陽を正面に運行する頻度が高いことなどから、更なる安全性の向上を図るため、列車運行時における運転士の視認性の向上と目からの疲労を軽減することができる保護メガネを、2021年10月18日（月）より井原鉄道で導入となりました。 列車運転における前方確認時の視認性の向上および目からの疲労を軽減することを目的とし、「TALEXオリジナルオーバーグラスおよびクリップオン」を保護サングラスとして、2021年7月21日（水）より、京都丹後鉄道で導入となりました。 更なる安全性の向上を図るため2019年9月から保護メガネの試行を実施、試行結果が良好であったためJR西日本 全エリアの鉄道（在来線）運転士へ拡大し本実施となりました。 ■本実施時期：2020年3月 電車運転時の前方確認や信号・諸標等の視認性の向上及び疲労軽減による安全性の向上を図るため、2023年3月1日（水）より東京さくらトラム（都電荒川線）で導入となりました。 2022年8月より試験導入を行い、着用の効果や安全性の確認の検証の結果が良好であったため、交通管理会社では全国で初めて、2023年3月より本格導入となりました。
