Taiwan Media Watch
媒觀成立於1999年6月，由一群結合學術界、新聞實務界等人士發起組成。成立之初便以「維護新聞自由、落實媒體正義、促進媒體自律、保障公民傳播權利」作為宗旨，以此宗旨出發，在成立十餘年的日子裡，我們不但持續針對優質兒少節目進行評選與推薦外，同時也陸續與社區大學、教育部推動媒體識讀教育，並結合公民團體推動成立「公民參與媒體改造聯盟」，促進建立電子媒體建立集體自律機制，與協助蘋果日報建立自律委員會。 然而，現今主流傳播媒體仍多充斥置入性行銷、政治意識形態、消費娛樂、色情、暴力等有害社會與公眾的新聞與節目，這除了說明我們不但要繼續努力，繼續進行媒體觀察與監督工作，並結合社會各種力量，與大眾傳媒業者共同協調出基於合乎情理法且有效的作法及途徑一同努力。 媒觀本於過去十餘年來投入的媒改工作根基，未來仍將加強維護傳媒工作者專業與獨立的工作環境、保障人民傳播權等相關權益、推廣全民媒體素養教育、整合公民社會力量
