公司成立後，先出版《大正新脩大藏經》，又陸續出版《卍正藏經》、《卍續藏經》、《高麗大藏經》、《磧砂大藏經》、《嘉興大藏經》、《乾隆大藏經》等六種不同版本的佛教藏經，為當代漢文佛教大藏經出版之權威。同時為了滿足佛學研究者的需求，並在全球各地尋求珍貴與罕見佛教經典整理出版，目前有可供購買佛學典籍數百種之多。 同時，對其他文史資料的出版也同時展開。漢學方面，多年來整理出版《叢書集成新編、續編、三編》、《石刻史料新編》一～四輯、《大易類聚》、《補資治通鑑長篇系列》、《臺灣珍藏善本叢刊．古鈔本明代詩文集》、《臺灣珍藏善本叢刊．古鈔本清代詩文集初、二輯》等等文獻。道教方面，出版《道法海涵》系列、《正統道藏》、《道藏輯要》、《中華續道藏初輯》、《中國傳統儀式音樂研究系列》。敦煌學方面有《敦煌寶藏》，蒐集了存在歐、美、日與兩岸各大研究單位與圖書館之敦煌卷子，為當代收錄最完整全面的敦煌研究資料。另也邀請了當代權威敦煌研究學者，陸續編輯出版了《敦煌導論叢刊》、《敦煌叢刊二輯》、《敦煌吐魯番研究中心叢刊》等共計有二百多冊相關書籍。 創辦人高本釗先生14歲時隨軍隊來臺，先後住過淡水、嘉義、臺南等地，後從部隊轉
