Idea siitä, miten rakentaa peli pohjaten suomalaiseen, karjalaiseen ja laajemmin itämerensuomalaiseen folkloreen syntyi yhteistyönä kulttuuriperinnöstä ja peleistä innostuneiden ihmisten kesken. Runo on yhdistänyt opiskelijat, tutkijat ja ammattilaiset niin humanistisilta aloilta kuin pelisuunnittelun ja taiteen parista kehittämään yhteistä konseptia.
