Качканарский Дворец культуры распахнул свои двери в ноябре 1968 года, через 5 лет после запуска градообразующего предприятия Качканарский горно-обогатительный комбинат, и сразу стал любимым местом отдыха горняков и жителей Качканара. Для молодого города, средний возраст жителей которого составлял 27 лет, это было очень важное событие. Посредством ДК реализовались культурные потребности населения.
