The Board is responsible for ensuring that adequate and effective policing is provided in the area for which it has policing responsibility. It sets the overall objectives and priorities for the provision of police services, after consultation with the Chief. The Board is also responsible for hiring the Chief, as well as monitoring and reviewing the Chief’s performance.
