Karl Schwarzschild Observatory
The Thüringer Landessternwarte (TLS – Thuringian State Observatory) is an astronomical research institute located near the university city Jena. TLS performs research in solar and stellar physics, extrasolar planets, and extragalactic physics. TLS operates the 2-metre Alfred Jensch telescope, an international station of the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR), and a new solar laboratory for developing instrumentation for synoptic multi-line observations of the Sun.
