《1.設立経緯》わが国の養鶏産業は、昭和40年（1965）死亡率の高いアジア型ニューカッスル病の流行で大きな打撃を受け, 昭和42年（1967）の死亡・淘汰羽数は全国で約200万羽に達した。このような事態は急速な発展期にあった養鶏産業に対応すべき衛生技術者の質・数の不足を関係者に強く印象付けることになった。そこで,養鶏界の強い要望から昭和40年（1965）9月23日に農林省（現農林水産省）畜産局衛生課等の指導のもと日本生物科学研究所の高松泰人博士を理事長として本会が設立された。 3) 1986～1995年 ELISAによる診断法、食鳥検査制度、産卵低下症候群’76の疫学と予防、人鳥共通感染症のリストアップ、鶏壊死性腸炎、IBの病型、総合ワクチネーションプログラム、SalmonellaとCampylobacterの検査法、大規模ウインドウレス鶏舎の衛生対策、特用家禽の衛生対策、鶏病用語コードの改訂、頭部腫脹症候群（SHS）などの問題について取り上げ、普及活動を行った。また、30周年記念事業として「鳥の病気」を出版した。《2.
