Japanese Red Cross Society Wakayama Chapter
日本赤十字社和歌山県支部は、全国47都道府県にある日本赤十字社の支部のひとつとして、1888年に和歌山委員部として誕生しました。1895年に和歌山支部と改称され、「人道」を理念に国際救援・開発協力、災害救護、安全講習会普及、ボランティア活動、青少年赤十字活動、国際人道法普及など、さまざまな活動を行っています。これらの活動は、県民からお寄せいただいた活動資金や寄付を財源として行われています。また、県内には赤十字病院、血液センターがあり、同じく「人道」を理念に医療事業、血液事業にかかる事業を行っています。更に、和歌山県内全ての地域の人々に赤十字の活動が届くよう、県内各市町村には、赤十字事業の推進を担う事務局（地区・分区）が設置されています。赤十字ボランティアをはじめとする多くの方々によって和歌山県支部の活動は支えられています。
