赤十字は「人間のいのちと健康、尊厳を守る」という使命のもと、災害時救護活動のほか、救急法等の普及活動や防災教育の推進など、様々な活動を展開しております。県民の皆様からのご支援に深く感謝申し上げますとともに今後も赤十字事業に対する一層のご理解とご協力を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。 宮城県支部では、赤十字病院2施設、血液センター、地区（本部）・分区等と連携し、「人道」を理念に国内の災害救護活動を中心に県民の皆さまのニーズに合わせた地域活動、医療事業、血液事業、救急法等の普及、青少年赤十字、ボランティア活動など幅広い活動を展開しています。 日本赤十字社宮城県支部は、全国47都道府県にある日本赤十字社の支部のひとつとして、1887年に宮城県委員部として誕生しました。1894年に宮城支部、1953年に宮城県支部と改称され、現在に至っています。 このような赤十字の活動は、活動資金（会費）にご協力くださる皆さまと、様々な活動を展開する赤十字奉仕団をはじめとするボランティアの皆さまによって支えられています。
