玩家回到庇護所後，可以運用探索中收集到的資源建造各式設施來提升自己的能力，並且製作相對應的料理來補充自己的「飽食度」、「口渴度」和「精神力」。隨著遊戲天數推進，玩家將可能遇到流浪的倖存者來敲門，他們的天賦有利於庇護所的存續；但相對的，收留他們也將消耗更多資源存量，要與他們攜手奮鬥，還是見死不救呢？ 《轉校生》為多人對戰的生存經營遊戲。遊戲中有許多被拋到異世界的倖存者，每個倖存者都有其獨一無二的天賦，能在不同情況下派上用場。玩家需要結識夥伴、採集資源、建造設施以維持庇護所運作，想辦法在充滿未知的環境下盡可能存活。 當倖存者離開庇護所，就會被強制變身為場景中的物件，獲得相關資源；只要喝下隨機出現的還原藥水，便能暫時還原成人類，轉換立場，追捕其他的倖存者，從他們身上掠奪資源，這可是確保自己存活到最後的不二法門！ 在探索中被擊敗的玩家也不要氣餒，遊戲中有豐富的圖鑑可以蒐集。武器共分為打擊、噴濺和綑綁三種類型，當倖存者被不同類型的武器擊敗後，就會解鎖相關的落難圖。就算被擊敗，還是能得到安慰獎！
