交通事故による死亡・重度後遺障害被害はいまだに深刻です。突然、多くの子ども達が交通遺児等になり、生活環境・教育環境が損なわれ困難な境遇に置かれてしまいます。今こそ交通遺児と交通重度障害を負われた方の子弟の生活基盤の安定と健全育成の支援が求められています。当財団は、国と民間団体の協力を得て昭和55（1980）年の発足から今日まで、一貫して交通遺児育成基金事業、交通遺児等支援給付事業（社会福祉事業）などを実施してまいりました。 交通遺児等の支援に皆様からのご寄付を募っています。また、賛助会員制度もあります。当財団は、内閣総理大臣認定の「公益財団法人」です。当財団へのご寄付・賛助会費には、所得税・法人税・相続税に関する税制優遇措置が適用されます。
