Black Educators Association
The Black Educators Association (BEA) was founded in 1969 to assist African Nova Scotian communities develop strategies toward an equitable education system. Demonstrating a strong commitment as a grassroots organization, the BEA also coordinates its efforts with the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Culture, the African Canadian Services Division, community groups, parent associations, school boards, as well as, other educational bodies. The BEA is a volunteer, non-profit organization.
