Atomic Energy Commission of Syria
أحدثت هيئة الطاقة الذرية في الجمهورية العربية السورية في عام 1976 وبدأت ممارسة نشاطها المؤسساتي منذ عام 1979 وهي جهة حكومية مسؤولة عن شؤون الطاقة الذرية وتطبيقاتها في المجالات السلمية. وتعمل على وضع الأسس والقواعد الناظمة لشؤون هذه الاستخدامات في الأراضي السورية، وتعد هيئة الطاقة الذرية السورية السلطة الرقابية المتخصصة التي أنيطت بها مهام الإحاطة بالأنشطة الإشعاعية وتتولى مسؤولية مراقبة كافة الممارسات الإشعاعية في القطر ومراقبة واردات وصادرات القطر في المنافذ الحدودية للتأكد من خلوها من الإشعاع.
